This Month in 1981

Sat Mar 7, 2009, 7:30 PM
Was searching for reading material amongst the old Neo Geo magazine stack for my potty break when I found an interesting issue - Vol. 159, No.3 March 1981.

It's significance? Well, when I was born:

- poaching and fur coats is serious business, I was presented a beaming Japanese lady trying on a chic spotted catskin fur coat, an intricately carved ivory horn, and a bear paw served in Macau

- the Flagship Space Shuttle "Columbia" would begin its inaugural launch on March 14th, unaware that it would be one of NASA's big tragedies as it disintegrated upon re-entry on 2003

- coffee is another serious business. Apparently it is only recently that the Japanese begin to slowly adopt coffee but it is quite expensive still. And burying yourself in soggy fermented ground coffee wearing nothing but paper bikinis is a health fad.

Most 'nostalgic' potty break ever.
